31st August 2001

Finished updating the compatibility notes (T-Z's) with Gens 1.00: Street Racer, Turbo OutRun, X-Perts.

Thanks to everyone who posted compatibility notes on the Gens forum I have also added some additional notes for: Best of the Best - Championship Karate, Bubble & Squeak, Deadly Moves, ESPN Sunday Night NFL, European Club Soccer, Krusty's Super FunHouse, Tetris, TNN Bass Tournament of Champions, TNN Outdoors Bass Tournament, Virtual Bart, Waterworld.

Using results taken from 0-k Gens v1.00 compatibility seems to be hanging around the 96% mark at the moment  with 90.5% running perfectly (or with no noticeable problems). [the results from T-z have been ignored because they are very old and have not generally been tested to the same standard as the 0-k's]

Added a missing review and manual scan (partial - English only) for Pete Sampras Tennis '96.

Stef should be releasing a new version of Gens tonight, the eagerly anticipated version 1.00! He kindly sent me a late beta last week so I've managed to update the Gens Manual, v1.00 is now ready for you to Download with updates to:

Updated compatibility notes for Gens: Another World, The Aquatic Games starring James Pond, AWS Pro Moves Soccer, Barkley Shut Up and Jam!, Barkley Shut Up and Jam! 2, Dashin' Desperadoes, Ferrari Grand Prix Challenge, Fun 'n' Games, Galaxy Force 2, James Bond - The Duel, James Pond 3 - Operation Starfish.

I only got as far as the K's, I'll update the T-Z's next time. If you're wondering why I haven't retested Castlevania Bloodlines it's because some of the graphics problems people have been reporting (myself included) are apparently part of the game - I need to be able to sit down with my Mega-Drive and try to sort out what's supposed to be happening! Also I haven't retested games with broken Multi-Tap support because Stef tells me that he hasn't fixed this yet (only partial support on Port 2).

Checked the K's with Gens (v0.99a) and rechecked them in KGen and Genecyst.

Updated compatibility notes: Kawasaki Superbike Challenge, Kick-Off 3 - European Challenge, King of the Monsters 2, King's Bounty, Krusty's Super FunHouse

Added a missing review for: Kishin Daisenryaku (Panzer Commander).

I recently came across an original cart of Battle Frenzy/Bloodshot and can now confirm that the apparent wall texture problems noted previously are present on a real mega-drive (updated compatibility notes).

Added some more updated compatibility notes for Genecyst (mostly broken EA splash screens): The Aquatic Games starring James Pond, Battle Squadron, Blockout, B.O.B., Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Centurion - Defender of Rome, Crue Ball, Dark Castle, Dashin' Desperadoes/Rumble Kids, F-117 Night Storm, The Faery Tale Adventure, Fatal Labyrinth/Shinomekyu, Fire Shark, Flicky, Forgotten Worlds, Gaiares, General Chaos, Grind Stormer/V-5, Haunting starring Polterguy, Head-on Soccer/Fever Pitch, The Immortal, It Came From the Desert, James Pond - Underwater Agent, James Pond 2 - Codename Robocod, James Pond 3 - Operation Starfish.

Made another improvement to site navigation, you can now access a list of all the Manuals scans etc. from the menu.
