| In Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic squares off against Dr. Robotnik's newest
henchman, Knuckles the enchindia - this employed a special "lock-on" pass-through
design that allowed you to plug in Sonic 1, 2, or 3 and play them as either
Sonic or Knuckles - this is often considered to be the best of the original
16-bit Sonic series.
